Studio Pottery by Richard Prentice
Located in an old chemist shop in the beautiful harbour village of Saundersfoot you will find probably one of Wales’ smallest galleries housing studio pottery by ceramic artist Richard Prentice of Blackbird Ceramics. Richard’s work is influenced by the stunning scenery and history that Pembrokeshire offers; quite often taking classical ceramic designs and making them contemporary and relevant to his environment.
From beautiful Sea Globes finished using complex and multiple glazing techniques that reflect the coastal surroundings, to Colliery Pots using blackened clay and finished in precious metals. Richard’s work is displayed in a beautiful, intimate and bespoke setting that evokes the west coast designs that are exquisitely reflected in his work.
