Sker Beach is the most westerly of Porthcawl’s beaches and is only accessible by walking from Rest Bay or the Kenfig National Nature Reserve. Generally sandy and flat, it is mostly used by locals, making it one of the quieter beaches in Porthcawl; it is a rural beach and as such has no toilets or other amenities. At low tide you can see a plaque which is in memory of all the lives lost on the SS Santampa and the Mumbles Life Boat; at very low tides, wreckage is still being found. Dogs are allowed
