A 1.5 mile long, dune backed, beach playground. There’s plenty of space at the town end for families or continue for more boisterous beach activities.There’s acres of beach at low tide but still plenty of room at high tide. The sea shelves very gently and is free of obstructions. Cafe and toilets by the access to beach; numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants and many interesting shops in the town. Blue Flag and Seaside Award beach. Dog restrictions apply to the beach below the cliffs, east of the beach car park/café 1 May to 30 September. Lifeguard service provided 10:00 – 18:00 30 March to 2 April 2018, weekends and Bank Holiday 5 to 20 May and daily 26 May to 2 September.
